The 2008 FORCAST Users Group Conference will be held on December 11 and 12, 2008, in Phoenix, AZ. We expect to obtain approval for attendees to receive 8 CPE credits. Starting in November handouts for the conference sessions will be available as downloads to paid registrants.

FORCAST upgrade version 6.11.0196 is available for lease clients. New features in this release are: (i) automated screen menu for calculating refundable entry fees and actuarially-equivalent health care guarantees; (ii) use of actuarial appraisal of fixed assets to determine unified funded status; (iii) final 2006 actuarial benchmarking statistics; (iv) automatic entry and monthly fee updates for fiscal year changes; and (v) two choices for FTP sites to upload any file on user's PC for consultant review.
Knowledge Base has been updated with actuarial benchmarking statistics from actuarial reports for fiscal years ending in 2002 through 2006 and provides trending of our industry standards.
FINAID upgrade release 5.01 is now available for financial validation of prospective residents' ability to pay fees. The companion product, named FINAID-in-FORCAST, for projecting benevolence aid to current residents can be activated in the new FORCAST upgrade for authorized clients. The format to collect resident financial information is the same for both products and is provided in the document Resident Financial Data form and instructions.
